Wittmer fired up about Le Mans debut
Canadian ace Kuno Wittmer got the chance of a lifetime last year when he his stunning efforts aboard a Viper in World Challenge earned him a spot in the SRT Viper squad for their return to the American Le Mans Series.
The 30-year-old was teamed with Dominik Farnbacher in the #93 Viper to form the team’s young gun attack. Now after a partial season in 2012, he returns this year for not only his first full season in the ALMS but the chance to race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time.
“Getting the invite for Le Mans was a dream come true for me.” Wittmer said.
“There are very few Canadians that have actually raced at Le Mans and even fewer French Canadians so I am really excited.
“To go there with SRT and a Viper is even more rewarding. It is what every driver wants to have. I can’t wait to get there and get off the plane”
Wittmer along with GT rival Johannes van Overbeek was another driver to sample Michelin’s new bicycle tire range at Sebring yesterday.
While his main fitness campaign involves running (including full and half marathons), Wittmer is also planning on doing two to three triathlons this year.
Whether he is at, or away from the racetrack, it seems the talented Canadian is also keen to race!
