Westbrook sets the pace in final practice

January 24, 2014

2014-01-22 at 11-29-31Richard Westbrook continued to set the pace in final practice at Daytona International Speedway today. The Spirit of Daytona driver has been fast in almost every session this week and at the Roar before the 24 test.

Pole winner Alex Gurney was second fastest ahead of Christian Fittipaldi. The Corvette Daytona Prototype machines took the top three spots on the timesheet and appear to be the “weapon of choice” for this weekend’s 52nd running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Last year’s GP2 Series runner-up Sam Bird was fastest in PC for Starworks Motorsport while Matteo Malucelli and Jan Magnussen made up for the disappointments in qualifying for Risi Ferrari and Corvette Racing by being fastest and third quick today. Neither the No.62 Ferrari or the No.3 Corvette recorded a time yesterday due to electric issues.
