Welcome to Rolex 24 race day
Race day has dawned at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, where 50 cars in three classes will be vying for victory in the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.
Within the GT Le Mans class, Michelin will be represented by nine cars from five technical partner teams: two apiece from Corvette Racing, Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, Porsche GT Team and BMW Team RLL, and a single Risi Competizione Ferrari.
Meanwhile there are 20 cars going for the overall win in the Prototype class, and 21 cars in the GT Daytona class.
Jan Magnussen (GTLM, No. 3 Corvette C7.R), Renger van der Zande (P, No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R) and Daniel Serra (GTD, No. 51 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GT3) qualified on pole in class. A qualifying recap is linked here.
