Weather looming for Sebring
Weather looming for Sebring
Things are getting busy in the tire compounds at Sebring International Raceway with wet weather tires being readied for today’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
While we will be dry for the green flag at 10:40am, thunderstorms are forecast for 1:00pm and heavy thunderstorms looming an hour later.
Sebring is a tough track to master at the best of times, it’s even more of a challenge when rain begins to fall.
“You take the Sebring bumps, the dark, the traffic, the battle over 12 hours – then add one more thing – rain! It makes it even more intense,” Ford GT driver Joey Hand said.
“I’m one of those guys who actually likes rain but we haven’t done a lot of laps in the rain with the Ford GT but I do know from experience that the Michelin rain tire certainly makes it a lot more comfortable.
“If it rains it is certainly going to be a great show for the fans.”
