Viper ups and downs
August 31, 2012
The SRT Viper team received a boost during the week with a balance of performance adjustment providing the two new GT machines with a 20kg weight break and a larger restrictor.
However, the team’s fortunes sunk the other way in practice this afternoon when Dominik Farnbacher suffered a heavy crash, nosing the car head first into the concrete wall.
The No.91 Viper received heavy front-end damage and won’t take part in qualifying.
The team is still unsure at this stage whether the car is repairable in time for tomorrow’s race.
Michelin Alley spoke with Tommy Kendall earlier in the day to discuss the performance break for the Viper as well as details regarding the development process for the SRT squad.
