The BMW Team RLL camp is the only Michelin technical partner team entering today’s Oak Tree Grand Prix at VIR without a 2014 GTLM class victory.
Both BMW factory team cars are well placed to fix that in today’s 2 hour 45 minute race on the 3.27 mile circuit.
Starting from the front row, Bill Auberlen and #55 BMW Z4 co-driver Andy Priaulx are ready to seize the opportunity and claim an overall race victory. “To actually see daylight ahead of us from the front row will make it that much better racing into Turn One.” Auberlen said.
Confident in their race set-ups and seeing little reward to practice in the cool conditions for a warmer 4:00pm race start, the BMWs sat out the at 8:00am warm up.
Fresh from a second place finish at Road America and starting fourth co-driving with John Edwards is Dirk Mueller, who says, “Our heads are on the race and our car is going to be a rocket!”
