Tight Times reflect Tight Battles
Tight Times reflect Tight Battles
Best lap times from Sunday’s Grand Prix of Mosport reflect just how close the ALMS GT field has become and perhaps the fastest lap isn’t necessarily predictive of the winner.
The GT winning #4 Corvette of Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen qualified sixth and posted just the sixth fastest GT lap time.
Ironically neither the race winning Muscle Milk Aston Martin of Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf, nor the LMPC winning CORE Autopsort car of Gunnar Jeannette and Ricardo Gonzalez posted fastest lap time in their respective classes as consistency and repeatability paid dividends.
Some teams, like the #01 ESM Ferrari set best times early, then encountered problems. The #45 Flying Lizard Porsche, both Corvettes, the Falken Porsche, and the #40 Roberston Ford set fastest laps when racing resumed after the first caution period.
