The boss is back – Pickett returns
Muscle Milk Team Aston Martin Racing owner Greg Pickett will return to the driver’s seat at Petit Le Mans – joining Klaus Graf and Lucas Lucas for the first time since Sebring.
With busy 2011 business commitments, Pickett has elected to leave the driving duties to Graf and Luhr all season, but is now looking forward to getting back behind the wheel.
The veteran “dusted off the cobwebs” in testing yesterday and is now looking forward to Saturday’s final round of the 2011 American Le Mans Series.
“It felt great to get back in the Muscle Milk Aston Martin today. It was important for me to see how I felt before making my final decision in regards to racing in the Petit Le Mans this weekend. It’s one thing to do a few laps but I got through what equaled a whole race stint and I feel great,” Pickett said.
“I’ve been out of the car for a while but I’ve been preparing to get back in the cockpit and that preparation paid off. I’ll be able to do a couple of stints and allow a little breather for Klaus and Lucas who will be doing most of the driving.
“It definitely won’t be easy out there with so many cars, even in testing it was interesting getting through the traffic but I’m looking forward to it.”
