Tandy/Pruett top warm-up
Teams are now in final preparation mode after the morning warm-up at Road America with Ganassi Ford’s Scott Pruett and Porsche’s Nick Tandy topping the Prototype and GTLM times.
Pruett’s teammate Joey Hand put the No.01 Riley chassis on pole yesterday but Tandy and teammate Patrick Pilet will face a tougher task after problems in qualifying put the No.911 entry to the bottom of the GTLM times.
Corvette Prototype duo Dane Cameron and Richard Westbrook were second and third fastest this morning while German machinery ruled the roost in GTLM. Tandy’s teammate Jorg Bergmeister (sharing with pole winner Earl Bamber) was second fastest with Dirk Werner’s BMW in third spot.
Other class leaders included Bruno Junqueira from Connor Daly and Ranger van der Zande in PC and Jeroen Bleekemolen’s Viper from Andy Lally (Porsche) and Kuno Wittmer (Aston Martin) in the GT Daytona class.
The green for today’s two hour, 40 minute race falls at 2:05pm local time.
American fans can watch today’s race live on FOX Sports 1 from 3:00pm (eastern time).
