Race cars, especially sophisticated cars like those racing in the American Le Mans Series, rely on technology to perform and win.
Virtually everything for the designs, aerodynamics, materials, engines, fuels and tires for the cars is based upon math, science, engineering, chemistry, computer modeling and simulations.
To help offer a better understanding of how the cars work and how math and science come into play, many of the teams and displays at Thursday’s Motorsports on Main will host free “tech talks” and question and answer opportunities to provide insights into the cars and how they are developed and raced.
Michelin, BMW Motorsport, Green Earth Team Gunnar, Corvette Racing, Highcroft HPD, Robertson Ford GT, and Muscle Milk Team CytoSport Porsche RS Spyder have all agreed to provide “tech talks”” for fans during Motorsports on Main.
