A nearly faultless race for Strakka Racing, the European team armed with the Honda Performance Development HPD ARX 01-c, ended with two victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The No. 42 car secured both the LMP2 class honors and the MICHELIN® GREEN X® Challenge win for being the car that traveled the fastest, furthest, and with the least environmental impact in the legendary endurance race.
Strakka follows the lead of Team Essex, which completed the same feat last year with their green and white Porsche RS Spyder. Although the Strakka HPD car is dark blue, silver and black, it has earned its shade of green for its performance this weekend.
Drivers Danny Watts, Jonny Kane, and Nick Leventis kept their car out of trouble in a clean race for HPD’s Le Mans debut with the highly-developed prototype, which is in its fourth year racing worldwide. The all-British team competes regularly in the Le Mans Series in Europe.
