Smith looking to turn front rows into results
Dyson Racing may have zero points to their credit so far in 2013, but the Mazda Lola squad are looking to turn their recent impressive qualifying form into results today at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Mechanical issues at Sebring and a crash at Long Beach has put them behind the eight-ball but with two consecutive front-row starts to their credit, it seems only a matter of time before the points start adding up.
Dyson Racing has also out-qualified their chief rivals Muscle Milk Pickett Racing in the past two weekends.
“We made a number of changes for qualifying and Chris made some good changes in the prior practice session,” said Smith.
“The competition this year is first class. We have seen the Rebellion pushing the factory Toyotas in Europe and Muscle Milk is a first class team. Any time you are amongst those guys, then you are doing a good job.”
Dyson Racing has switched to Michelin tires this season – putting themselves on a level playing field with Muscle Milk and Rebellion who have grabbed the pole in the past two rounds.
Michelin Alley caught up with Guy Smith yesterday to talk about the team’s progress.
