Sebring is ready to roll
The world’s best sportscar drivers are set to do battle on the world’s toughest sportscar course today – the stars and cars of the American Le Mans Series and the World Endurance Championship doing battle over 12 hours at Sebring International Raceway.
This venue is a center for heroes and heartache. Last year we had a giant upset with the ORECA privateer Peugeot and the brand-new Highcroft Racing HPD entry outlasting both the factory Audis and Peugeot.
Will we see the same today – time will tell – 12 hours to be precise. Teams will have their final chance to hit the track at 8:00am this morning. Racers will greet the green flag at 10:30am.
We’ve already seen surprises through the pack in qualifying. Former IndyCar ace Bruno Junqueira may be familiar with his RSR team, but both the driver and team are brand new to the LMPC class.
Take a listen to teammate Tomy Drisi’s joy and surprise about the new kids on the block knocking off the LMPC regulars to grab pole yesterday.
