Audi had a bittersweet morning in the first official practice today at Sebring International Raceway.
While Benoit Treluyer topped the timesheet in the No.1 Audi, the second entry piloted by Allan McNish spun on cold tires to bring out the red flag.
The No.2 Audi took no further part in the session after the car suffered front end damage.
Muscle Milk Pickett Racing’s HPD was second fastest and first of the full-time ALMS regulars with Lucas Luhr behind the wheel.
In P2 Simon Pagenaud set the pace for Level 5 Motorsports with a fast lap just before the checkered flag – pushing the Greaves Motorsport Nissan-powered entry of Tom Kimber-Smith back to second.
WEC regulars Aston Martin Racing kicked off their Sebring assault in fine form to top the timesheet in GT with Stefan Mucke at the wheel. Corvette Racing were 2-3 with Oliver Gavin leading Antonio Garcia.
The cars are back on track at 3:15pm this afternoon with an additional night practice scheduled for 8:00pm.
