Road America Testing – will Ferrari bounce back?
Testing kicked off at Road America this afternoon as teams prepared for the sixth round of the 2011 American Le Mans Series.
While Muscle Milk Team Aston Martin sat out the session, Chris Dyson and Guy Smith topped the timesheet aboard their Lola Mazda – stopping the clock at 1 minute, 55.132 seconds.
CORE autosport bounced back from their Mid-Ohio rain headaches by finishing 1-2 in testing today. The #06 car of Gunnar Jeannette and Ricardo Gonzalez were fastest ahead of teammates Jon Bennett and Frankie Montecalvo in the #05 car. The only problem for the Rock Hill, SC-based team was an off track excursion for Montecalvo at the end of the day.
The Ferrari flag was flying high in GT with the Risi Competizione duo of Toni Vilander and Jaime Melo fastest at 2 minutes, 6.984 seconds. The Extreme Speed duo of Ed Brown and Guy Cosmo were second fastest to make a Prancing Horse 1-2.
Vilander spoke to Michelin Alley after the session about the challenge ahead for the Road America weekend ….
