Risi Ferrari
Houston-based Risi Competizione has been the architect of Ferrari’s top-level GT success in North America for more than a decade, and to fulfill team patriarch Giuseppe Risi’s dreams, goals and ambitions.
Risi’s history as a Michelin technical partner team goes back to before the 2006 American Le Mans Series season. Risi said “Keep your cars” if he couldn’t partner with Michelin tires as Ferrari had another tire partner at the time. Risi’s request, however, was fulfilled.
The team scored a bevy of major endurance race wins in the late 2000s through 2010 at Le Mans and Sebring, and secured two driver and four team championships.
Risi Competizione Ferrari features the leadership of team manager Dave “Beaky” Sims and primary race engineer Rick Mayer, and has enjoyed a number of Ferrari factory drivers in the trademark No. 62 car. To start 2018, Toni Vilander, Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Davide Rigon shared the team’s lone Ferrari 488 GTE.
