Qualifying – Now, well then, where were we?
Qualifying – Now, well then, where were we?
Oh, yes we were talking about qualifying. For a good long while it looked that it may be cancelled, meaning the grid would be set based upon ALMS championship point standings.
At mid-day, Long Beach Grand Prix Association’s iconic leader Jim Michaelian said, “I know that everyone is looking forward to a bright, sunny, Southern California day, and it is coming.” You may note that he just didn’t say it would be today.
But hold on. The sun is starting to shine down on the closed Pizza concession stand and the sounds of race cars echoing around the circuit. Now the ALMS cars are preparing for qualifying on, are you ready for this, a drying track and slick tires. Ok, so the session is delayed five minutes.
Stay tuned as qualifying is about to begin and the forecast for tomorrow is clear and sunny with temperatures in the low 60s.
