Porsche jumped to the top of the timesheet in the opening practice session for this weekend’s Six Hours of Circuit of The Americas – the USA round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
New Zealander Earl Bamber set the pace with a 1 minute, 48.124 lap with the car he is sharing with Brendon Hartley and Timo Bernhard – just over a 10th of a second faster than the No. 1 Porsche of Neel Jani, Andre Lotterer and Nick Tandy.
The No. 8 Toyota was fourth fastest this morning ahead of the No. 7 TS050 Hybrid.
In the GTE-Pro ranks it was Ford who ruled early with the No.66 GT of Stephan Mucke and Olivier Pla leading Andy Priaulx and Harry Tinknell.
Cars are back on track this afternoon from 4:30pm for another 90 minute practice session.
