Manthey - 92While ALMS fans have not yet seen the new Porsche 911 RSR in action, the successor to the 911 GT3 RSR has been sharpening its claws on the FIA World Endurance Championship series in the hands of Porsche AG Team Manthey.

With Porsche factory drivers Joerg Bergmeister, Timo Bernhard,and Romain Dumas joined by factory mates Richard Leitz, Marc Lieb and Patrick Pilet, the new cars are certainly on the pace here at Le Mans.

The pair of factory Porsches were first and third in GTE class in the official first practice on Wednesday and appear poised for a strong performance here at Le Mans.

The new Porsche RSR features a slightly longer wheel base, new wishbone front suspension and a lightweight six speed gearbox.

ALMS fans will get their chance to see the Manthey team and the new Porsche 911 RSR in race action at the stunning Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas when the WEC Series combines with the ALMS for a big doubleheader race weekend September 19-22.
