This is the fourth in a five-part GT2 class preview series.
The two-time defending ALMS GT2 class champions rode a five-race mid-season win streak last season and ended with their sixth win of the year in the season ender at Laguna Seca. But with their rivals as fierce as ever, Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long have to continue to fight to keep the Flying Lizard Porsche atop the leaderboard.
These two are joined by Marc Lieb for the endurance races. The team’s sister car, the No. 44 entry, is co-driven by team co-owner Seth Neiman, Darren Law and Richard Lietz.
The California-based team just missed out on the 2007 edition of the Sebring 12 hours after an epic last lap fight with Risi Competizione’s Ferrari F430 GT. Bergmeister was again at the wheel for that battle, this time just falling short of Jaime Melo for the class win.
