Peugeot enters the 12 Hours of Sebring as defending champions for the first time, and with a pair of new closed-top 908 prototypes (the same name, but not the same car). A V8 engine takes over as the powerplant, as the “French lions” look to open their 2011 account with a win in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.
Marc Gene, Alexander Wurz and Anthony Davidson took home the 2010 triumph over its team car, which has only one of the same three pilots as a year ago. With only two cars this race, Peugeot has rotated its driver lineup for the event and for the entirety of the ILMC to help ensure equal time aboard the new car. Stephane Sarrazin, Franck Montagny and Pedro Lamy share the No. 8, with Sarrazin and Montagny returning to Sebring after missing last year’s race.
This is part of a series of previews on Michelin technical partner teams in this year’s 12 Hours of Sebring.
