One of the American Le Mans Series stalwarts make its first series start of the 2010 season. It’s already been a successful year for Audi, having finished 1-2-3 at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans with its newly-revised R15 Plus TDI open-top, second generation diesel prototype.
Capello, McNish, and Kristensen have starred in their ALMS careers, and any one of them can drop a stunning lap at a moment’s notice. All three, especially the plucky Scot McNish, are huge fan favorites in the U.S. Audi’s youth movement is present in the second car, with the trio that finished second at Le Mans. While Marcel Fassler has a few ALMS starts under his belt, both Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer are new to the series, but armed with one of the fastest cars on the grid.
