Pedro Lamy sets GTLM pace for Aston Martin
Aston Martin may be concentrating on the Patrón Endurance Cup here in the US in 2015 but the British manufacturer showed they are certainly not here to make up the numbers with Pedro Lamy setting the pace today.
Lamy set the fastest time of the day a the “Roar before the 24” aboard the Aston Martin Vantage V8 he is sharing with Darren Turner, Paul Dalla Lana and Mathias Lauda.
The Aston squad will run a single car here at Daytona plus Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta.
The afternoon session had three different manufacturers in the top three with Nick Tandy (Porsche), Davide Rigon (Ferrari) and Antonio Garcia (Corvette) running competitive times today.
The quality GTLM field will feature 2 x BMWs, 2 x Corvettes, 2 x Ferraris, 3 x Porsches and the single Aston Martin.
Teams are back on track tomorrow at 9:00am for the first of four sessions tomorrow. Teams will complete tomorrow’s running with a night session under lights at Daytona International Speedway.
