A pair of teams competing in the entire Intercontinental Le Mans Cup for 2011 leapt to the top of the timesheets in the final one-hour pre-qualifying practice for the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Peugeot topped the charts, but with the previous generation 908 HDi FAP run by the Oreca team. Loic Duval set the fastest time on his final lap of the session at 1:48.704. Duval will drive with his countrymen from France, Nicolas Lapierre and Olivier Panis in the No. 10 Peugeot.
Duval edged both of the Audi R15 TDIs, which also dipped under 1:50 at 1:49.730 (No. 2, Tom Kristensen) and 1:49.792 (No. 1, Romain Dumas), respectively. Stephane Sarrazin in the first of the factory Peugeot 908s and Simon Pagenaud in Highcroft’s HPD ARX-01e completed the top five.
In GT, Luxury Racing put its No. 59 Ferrari F458 Italia on top courtesy of Frederic Makowiecki’s 2:02.576 flier on his final lap. Luxury led another ILMC Ferrari entrant, the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari F430 GT, with Gianmaria Bruni timing in at 2:02.684.
