Pagenaud joins the Muscle Milk men

Former American Le Mans Series LMP1 champ Simon Pagenaud has been snapped up by Muscle Milk Racing to partner Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr for the forthcoming 60th anniversary of the Twelve Hours of Sebring.

Although he has a full-season IndyCar deal in his pocket with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, Pagenaud was also expected to return to Sebring with the Peugeot factory square before their recent withdrawl.

The Frenchman who starred with de Ferran Motorsports on debut and went on to claim a championship at Highcroft Racing will now reunite with his Honda Performance Development buddies to help Muscle Milk with the development of their new LMP1 machine.

While Muscle Milk was putting the finishing touches to its machine today in the Sebring paddock, Graf, Luhr and Pagenaud are expected to his the track tomorrow.

“I’m delighted to be taking on this new challenge and very happy to be joining Muscle Milk Pickett Racing for the first race of the ALMS season,” Pagenaud said.

“It is a little bit of a love story with Honda. I’ve driven all sorts of their cars from the Honda FIT, to sports cars and they’ve helped me reach my goal to get into INDYCAR. That said, when I heard they were coming out with the HPD ARX-03a P1 prototype, I was very interested in participating in the 12 Hours of Sebring. I talked to HPD with Greg and Klaus about this great opportunity and we connected all the dots.”
