On pole on home track for first time
Muscle Milk Pickett Racing have always been fast at their home track at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca – but never fast enough to grab pole position.
Klaus Graf however, turned that around today to push his No.6 HPD machine to the top of the timesheets.
Teamed with Lucas Luhr, the German duo will be looking to gain the upper hand in their championship chase. While they have a win to their credit at Long Beach, a late race refueling issue where the connection in the car itself broke late in the race at Sebring sees them chasing their rivals Dyson Racing in the points.
While Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is not a street circuit, the Muscle Milk squad still used their “street soft” Michelins from Long Beach to grab the pole today.
Michelin Alley talked to Graf after his qualifying effort.
