Thursday Night practice brought a few mild surprises, but mostly ran close to form as teams took advantage of clear, cool conditions. While the Peugeot team led the entire session, followed closely by the Aston Martin, Drayson, Highcroft and Cytosport Porsche RS Spyder, it was the GT2 category that provided some surprises. GT powerhouses Corvette, Risi Ferrari, and Flying Lizard Porsche ended the session in unfamiliar territory in positions 5-8. Leading the GT2 timing screen were the Rahal Letterman BMWs and Scott Sharp’s new Extreme Speed Ferraris. The margins were not large, but there is no question that the GT2 battle with Porsche, Corvette, Ferrari and BMW is going to be exciting. Qualifying tomorrow at 1:50 p.m. E.T. should be exciting.
