Name Game

March 14, 2013

brabham_senna_prostThree names jump off the entry list and timing screen here at Sebring: SENNA! PROST! BRABHAM!

All three have the chance to be winners here at Sebring 2013 as they compete in three different classes in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

Nicolas PROST, 31, of Fechy, France is the oldest son of four time F1 World Champion Alain Prost. Here at Sebring, Nicolas co-drives the 2012 Petit Le Mans winning #12 Rebellion Racing Lola Toyota with Nick Heidfeld and Neel Jani.

David BRABHAM, a son of Australia’s legendary world champion Sir Jack Brabham, will co-drive the #01 Extreme Speed Motorsports HPD arx-03b Honda prototype with former Highcroft teammate Scott Sharp and Guy Cosmo.

Ironically, while he has a pair of Sebring GT class wins, in 1998 aboard a Panoz Ford GT1 and in 2006 with the Panoz Esperante, the former ALMS and Le Mans champion has never won the 12 Hours of Sebring overall. His brothers Gary and Geoff remind him of that around this time each year. Geoff has a pair of Sebring overall wins with Nissan, (1989 and 1991), the latter teamed with brother, Gary.

Bruno SENNA, 29, of Sao Paolo, Brazil is the nephew of legendary three time F1 world champion, Aytron Senna. He co-drives the The #97 Aston Martin Vantage V8 in the GTE class with Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke.

Just 12 months ago, Senna, finished 16th at Australia with Williams F1 and followed that with a sixth place finish at Malaysia and a seventh at China.
