Muscle Milk men triumph in Canada

They’ve taken four wins a row this season and won three years in row here in Canada – Muscle Milk Pickett Racing continued their barnstorming run in the American Le Mans Series today.

The Benecia, CA-based team of Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr dominated at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park today. Not even a late race gear shifting issue could halt their charge.

With both drivers celebrating birthdays this weekend, the #6 HPD entry led home arch-rivals Dyson Racing with Guy Smith and Chris Dyson aboard their #16 Lola.

Conquest Racing scored its first ever sportscar win when David Heinemeier Hansson and Martin Plowman led the P2 class to the checkered flag with their Morgan Nissan.

RSR Racing put a stop to CORE autosport’s domination of the PC class by recording its firs series victory for ex-Indy 500 polesitter Bruno Junqueira and Tomy Drissi.

CORE had won the first four races of the season but couldn’t match RSR today. Colin Braun and Jon Bennett’s second place put them in a championship tie with teammate Alex Popow who was third today with Ryan Dalziel.

The GT battle was the highlight of the weekend with Flying Lizard Motorsport taking its second consecutive victory with Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long.

The late race battle between Bergmeister, Corvette Racing’s Jan Magnussen and the Extreme Speed Motorsports Ferrari of Johannes van Overbeek was incredible. A late race yellow flag set the stage for a three way dogfight. Prior to the yellow, Bergmeister was holding off Magnussen with van Overbeek starting to loom large in the Dane’s mirrows.

Magnussen took a lunge at Bergmeister on the final lap at Moss corner only to open the door for van Overbeek to sneak into second place.
