What do you get when you take one of the top teams in the American Le Mans Series and mix it with one of the best sounds in motorsports? You get this year’s renamed Muscle Milk Aston Martin Racing, formerly Muscle Milk Team CytoSport, now armed with the V12-powered, screaming Aston Martin engine in the back of a closed-top Lola coupe.
After winning three races (two overall) in 2010, including the P2 class at the 12 Hours of Sebring, the Muscle Milk AMR crew looks to double up with a win for its new car. Team principal Greg Pickett is back in the cockpit for the first time since a devastating accident during practice at Mid-Ohio last year, joined by ace German pilots Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr. In 2009 and 2010, the team ran a Porsche RS Spyder, with the venerable, successful car retired after the 2010 Petit Le Mans.
This is part of a series of previews on Michelin technical partner teams in this year’s 12 Hours of Sebring.
