Danny Sullivan lead the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America Class of 2012 announced today here at Long Beach.
Sullivan is a former Indy 500 winner, CART PPG Indy Car World Series champion and winner of the Long Beach Grand Prix.
Sullivan, whose “spin and win” at the 1985 Indianapolis 500 is one of the most dramatic moments in Indy history also raced at Sebring, Daytona, and four times at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
He is joined in the 2012 class by Le Mans winner Derek Bell; legendary engine builder Ed Pink; motorcycle champion and current off-road racer Ricky Johnson; Vic Edelbrock, Sr; historic figure Ed ” Pop” Dreyer and the late Neil Bonnett.
The induction ceremonies will take place in Detroit on August 29th.
