We’re back at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for Motul Petit Le Mans weekend. This event occurs only six weeks after the last time IMSA came to the track in Braselton, Ga. for the Michelin Endurance Challenge weekend.

This is Round 9 (of 11) of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, Round 3 (of 4) of the Michelin Endurance Cup, and Round 8 (of 10) of the IMSA MICHELIN Pilot Challenge season. This is also the sixth and final round for the IMSA Prototype Challenge, which is a three-hour race rather than the usual one-hour, 45-minute duration.

The unique aspect of racing at the same track six weeks apart provides a bevy of data for IMSA teams.

All told, Michelin Raceway will host 25 hours of racing this year for Michelin’s three IMSA series:

• 16 hours for WeatherTech Championship (10 Motul Petit Le Mans, 6 TireRack.com Grand Prix)
• 6 hours for MICHELIN Pilot Challenge (2 FOX Factory 120, 4 VP Racing Stay Frosty 240)
• 3 hours for Prototype Challenge (3 IPC race)
