Michelin Road America Event Card and Preview

July 30, 2019

With long straights, fast corners and a festive atmosphere, Elkhart Lake’s Road America serves as one of the favorite stops for Michelin on the IMSA schedule.

The IMSA Road Race Showcase at “America’s National Park of Speed” is Round 9 of 12 for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Round 7 of 10 for IMSA MICHELIN Pilot Challenge competitors.

The WeatherTech Championship race begins Sunday, August 4, at 2:30 p.m. EDT (NBC Sports App) with television coverage slated for 6 p.m. EDT on NBCSN. The Pilot Challenge race is at 5:05 p.m. EDT (IMSA.TV). IMSA Radio covers all sessions on-track flag-to-flag, commercial free.

ROAD AMERICA EVENT CARD

The Michelin Road America Event Card for the race is linked here.

Highlighted in the Road America Event Card are:

  • The DPi field has just three races remaining, and has seen Cadillac (3 in a row), Acura (2 in a row and Mazda (2 in a row) all deliver win streaks.
  • The longest track of the year provides a fast, flowing circuit for tires, with long straightaways providing more of an opportunity for tires to cool.
