Michelin, IMSA partnership on display at NAIAS
Michelin highlighted its increased partnership with IMSA during its Monday press conference at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The year-on-year leap in automotive brands is staggering. Last year, Michelin worked with five brands in the open-tire GT Le Mans category. This year, that number increases to 19, spread across all four classes of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and two in the MICHELIN Pilot Challenge series.
“Most of the vehicle brands in the WeatherTech Championship are Michelin customers that have chosen Michelin tires for their performance vehicles,” said Scott Clark, chairman and president, Michelin North America.
“The technology, innovation and relationships that we develop together with the manufacturers in competition helps Michelin meet their needs and ultimately the expectations of their owners and fans.”
The No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R from Wayne Taylor Racing was on display at the Michelin stand in Detroit as well. Cadillac will have a class-high six cars in the WeatherTech Championship DPi class this year.
