The ALMS was well represented at the recent Indy 500. Former Porsche Penske RS Spyder star Ryan Briscoe started on the pole and finished fifth. The top three finishers, Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan all have ALMS starts on their ledgers.
Bobby Rahal’s team had Takuma Sato making a bold, but ultimately unsuccessful move for the lead on the final lap. They also brought Michel Jourdain home in 19th.
Townsend Bell (pictured below), taking a break from the wheel of the Alex Job Racing Lola Evora in ALMS, finished a solid ninth place.
Former ALMS champion Simon Pagenaud (pictured left) finished 16th in his rookie appearance. He remains the highest placed rookie in the championship.
Derrick Walker led Ed Carpenter Racing all the way up second place before a spin edropped him to 21st.
