Lizards on a roll
Despite losing their Canadian Tire Motorsport Park win due to a technical issue, Flying Lizard Motorsport has certainly been on a roll in recent weeks.
A win at Lime Rock for Patrick Long and Joerg Bergmeister, a win taken away in Canada and a runner-up spot at Mid-Ohio, the Californian-based team heads to Road America on a high.
In Thursday testing, things continued to go well for the Porsche squad – finished 1-3 on the GT timesheet at the end of the day.
“We’ve been on a roll for the last three races with two consecutive wins (at Lime Rock and Mosport) and a second- place finish,” Lizard’s chief strategist Thomas Blam said.
“Although we didn’t get the points at Mosport, at each race we’ve been up at the front, fighting for the win.
“Road America is fast track with a combination of long straightaways and high-speed turns; it’s Joerg’s favorite U.S. circuit.
“We all enjoy the four-hour format which gives us more time for pit stops and strategy. There’ll be a large GT field again this weekend and it should be another exciting and very competitive race.”
