Lizards Fly to GTE – Am Pole

Race week at Le Mans is off to a good start for one of the event’s most popular teams, Flying Lizard Motorsports. Patrick Pilet put the #79 Flying Lizard Porsche on the pole in the 13 car GTE-Am class field with a strong 3:57.594 lap that stood up through all three rounds of qualifying. Pilet joins team owner Seth Neiman and Spencer Pumpelly in the car for the race.
The Pro half of the Lizard entry the #80 Porsche of Joerg Bergmeister, Patrick Long, and Marco Holzer will start seventh in the tight GTE-Pro class and is well positioned for the race.
Thorough planning and preparations, stellar pit work and creative race strategies have delivered consistent race wins and championships to the Sonoma, California based team and Porsche factory drivers Bergmeister and Long, now joined by Holzer.
With both cars running well, the Lizards are hopeful that this could be the year the team adds a first victory at Le Mans to its long list of successes.
