At Le Mans, the GT class is split into GTE Pro and GTE Am per new ACO regulations allowing for more gentlemen drivers to compete. ALMS regulars Flying Lizard Motorsports did not participate, but Robertson Racing was there in full guise with two of its Doran-built Ford GTs.

The Robertsons make their Le Mans debut in GTE Am. The husband-and-wife team of David and Andrea Robertson is joined by sports car veteran Boris Said.

Robertson’s second Ford GT, driven by David Murry, Anthony Lazzaro and Colin Braun, is currently the first reserve in the GTE Pro division and would gain an entry if any of the 28 GT cars was to drop out.

Corvette wasn’t at Le Mans as Corvette Racing, but its drivers took part in the Larbre Competition-run Corvette C6.R. This allowed drivers Tommy Milner, Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta and Jan Magnussen the chance at some much appreciated extra laps.

P2 squad Level 5 Motorsports made its first official Le Mans appearance with two Lola HPD coupes – one of which is based in Europe and the other flown directly to France following the last ALMS race at Long Beach two weeks ago.

Team owner Scott Tucker gets the opportunity to race for his own team after making his Le Mans debut in a Kolles-run Audi R10 TDI in 2010. Tucker, Christophe Bouchut and Joao Barbosa will race the No. 33 car at this year’s 24-hour classic.
