Lazzaro on standby
Lazzaro on standby
Extreme Speed Motorsports has put out an SOS call to team endurance regular Anthony Lazzaro at Road America today.
Lazzaro drove with ESM at Sebring this year and now may get some additional miles in the No.02 Ferrari 458 Italia.
Guy Cosmo is troubled with a back injury and regular teammate Ed Brown also a little “under the weather” – Lazzaro has been brought in as a “pinch hitter” just in case the team’s regular combination need backup.
As a result, the No.02 car will move to the back of the grid as Lazzaro wasn’t nominated prior to the race weekend.
Cosmo will start the race for ESM today. While actually driving the car doesn’t cause him any concern – getting into (or out of) the car is a challenge.
The ESM squad are hoping for a strong day with Ferrari looking to repeat its victory from last year.
The No.01 Ferrari of Scott Sharp and Johannes van Overbeek won recently at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
