Katherine Legge, RLL confirmed for Jaguar I-PACE series

July 13, 2018

It’s been a rather good 24 hours for Katherine Legge.

Just after her birthday on Thursday, Legge was got confirmed for the rest of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season in her No. 86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3. She currently sits second in the GT Daytona class standings.

Now on Friday, she has been confirmed as part of the new Jaguar I-PACE eTrophy series with electric cars, for the 2018-’19 season. She will drive with the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team, which will field a two-car entry into that championship for its debut season.

Legge, who participated in the inaugural ABB FIA Formula E Championship season and is on site this weekend in New York for the New York City E-Prix, is wholly looking forward to the new chance.

“I am very proud to be driving in the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Formula E series for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing,” Legge said. “I have followed Formula E since its inception and have been very impressed with the growth in the electric car market and electric racing as a whole.

“I have also wanted to drive for Bobby for the past 10 years or more so this for me is the realization of a dream. Driving for a British brand like Jaguar on a global stage and ‘racing to innovate’ sounds like the best kind of challenge to me. I’m excited!”

Legge’s IMSA season resumes with MSR at Lime Rock Park next week. She and Mario Farnbacher won the Detroit round earlier in the year.
