IndyCar ace Dixon strong at Sebring
Reigning IndyCar champion Scott Dixon has been a force to be reckoned with so far at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Aboard the No.02 Ganassi Ford entry with Tony Kanaan and sage Karam, the Kiwi took the car into the lead after the three-hour mark and Karam continued to hold the lead 90 minutes later.
“The car seems to be running pretty good. Ford has done a great job with the development of the engine – the driveability of getting better and the fuel mileage as well,” Dixon said.
“We’re off sequence again now when the others pitted but I think it might work out quite well for us with the latest caution.
“It is always hard to tell because there are so many little things that can take you out of this race. It is a rough track which is really hard on the car, but generally we’re just trying to look after it and trying to get to the 10 hour mark and then assess where we are for the last two.
“So far the car seems to be fairly quick and we’re able to run with the best. We just have to stay out of trouble because it is not real easy to pass here.”
The second Ganassi car with Scott Pruett, Memo Rojas and Marino Franchitti was in fourth place after four hours and 30 minutes.
