HPD crank it up to Level 5
Honda Performance Development have shown their winning form in the past in the American Le Mans Series and their latest weapon looks like it will be a force to be reckoned with for Level 5 Motorsports.
Level 5’s Scott Tucker, Christophe Bouchut and Luis Diaz debuted the new cost-capped LMP2 entry from HPD – a development of the previous championship winning chassis used by Fernandez and Highcroft Racing and a new turbocharged engine developed with the help of HIghcroft during the off-season.
The Level 5 car ran like clockwork throughout the six hours at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca – a remarkable feat considering the team has only had the Wirth Research designed machine for only a week.
Tucker, Bouchut and Diaz eventually finished fourth overall and will set their sights on Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in two weeks time.
