Hold That Track
Hold That Track
It is a hot, sunny 94 degree day here in Baltimore and the fans are ready for the the IndyCar and ALMS teams to return to the track. We are on an extended track hold as efforts are made to grind the front straightaway section where the trolley car rails cross the track.
The IndyCars were lifting all four wheels off the ground as they launched across the tracks.
The ALMS cars fared a bit better, but the subsequent Indy Lights practice was quickly halted.
A chicane was installed in this area for last year’s inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix event to slow the cars and route them around the worst sections.
Adjustments to the schedule will be posted as they are announced. Officials have just announced that a chicane will be put in place for the next IndyCar session. We are awaiting word on whether it will be used for the ALMS practice and qualifying.
The latest revised schedule is:
5:00-5:30 Practice #2 ALMS
5:40-5:55 Qualifying – ALMS (GTC)
5:57-6:12 Qualifying – ALMS (GT)
6:20-6:35 Qualifying – ALMS (PC)
6:37-6:52 Qualifying – ALMS (P1/P2)
