Heals Fast, Drives Faster
Heals Fast, Drives Faster
Eight weeks ago Anthony Davidson was lying on the road in agony after a cycling crash which left him with a broken collarbone.
At the time, defending his pole position from last year’s Petit Le Mans was probably the furthest thing from his mind.
However, the ex-Formula 1 pilot obviously heals as fast as he drives. After missing his home ILMC race at Silverstone, the Brit again scored the pole at Petit Le Mans today, stopping the clocks at 1:07.428 – up by .128 of a second over the Timo Bernhard/Romain Dumas/Marcel Fassler Audi.
Davidson is teamed this weekend with Sebastien Bourdais (who he won at Imola with earlier this year) and ALMS fan favorite Simon Pagenaud.
Pagenaud stole the fastest time right at the end of night practice last night and his teammate showed the #7 Peugeot will be one to watch during the race.
Tomorrow’s grid will have a familiar Peugeot-Audi-Peugeot-Audi at the front of the pack with the Sebring winning older Peugeot from ORECA in fifth place.
The ILMC European raiders set the pace over the local ALMS teams today – the first local only qualifying ninth fastest – the #20 Dyson Lola.
