Hargrove hits top step again in GT3 Canada
Scott Hargrove, the 19 year-old rising star from Surrey, B.C. Canada took another step toward the 2014 Ultra94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin championship with a dominant win here at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Saturday.
Starting from the pole in the OpenRoad Racing Porsche 991 for the fifth time this season, Hargrove took the lead at the start and led all the way to score his fifth win of the ten race championship.
Christopher Green of Montreal dropped to third at the start aboard the Pfaff Racing Castrol Porsche, but made a strong mid-race charge to retake second from American, Spencer Pigot.
The 20 year old Pigot, recently crowned 2014 Pro Mazda champion, finished third.
The victory increased Hargrove’s lead over Green to 18 points heading into Sunday afternoon’s season finale. Green and Pigot have each taken two wins.
