After eight years in the ALMS, Gunnar Jeannette captured his first class victory in 42 starts. Driving the Green Earth Team Gunnar car, Jeannette and co-driver Elton Julian led the LMPC category at Long Beach.
Level 5 Motorsports, the Sebring class winners, finished second with team owner Scott Tucker and Christophe Bouchut driving. The third place car was again the Genoa Racing entry of J.R. Hildebrand, a native of nearby Sausalito, Calif., and Tom Sutherland. Intersport Racing’s entry of Brian Wong and Mitch Pagerey finished fourth.
Of the remaining three cars in class, Level 5’s second car did not start, and the other two had incidents with the tire barriers. Tom Papadopoulos nosed in at turn 6, Gerardo Bonilla at turn 1 under caution.
