Graf scores Canadian pole
Klaus Graf scored Muscle Milk Pickett Racing’s second consecutive 2013 pole and his second in a row at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park today.
Today’s pole was the German aces’ ninth in ALMS competition. He stopped the clocks at 1:05.871 – nearly a second faster than last year’s pole time.
For the fourth year in a row the team has qualified on pole position for Sunday’s main event at the 2.459-mile, 10 turn road course.
“I had a really good run, the car worked really well,” Graf said.
“The Muscle Milk guys did a good job in practice – we did a lot of changes. Shortly before the end of the second session I wasn’t really happy and we made some adjustments and I got one more run even though there was only three minutes to go and we hit the sweet spot.
“The track changes improved some areas in terms of grip, also we hit the sweet spot on the Michelin tires also with temperatures and pressures, which is always critical on a fast track like this. I had a lot of fun, I love this place especially if you get the car right and its doing what its supposed to do.”
