Ganassi boys fastest in final practice
The Chip Ganassi Racing squad bounced up at the end of final practice at Sebring to take the top two spots in preparation for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Nissan’s “gamer-to-racer” Jann Mardenborough (pictured right) early in the session for Muscle Milk Racing with fellow Nissan-powered driver Olivier Pla taking over half way through the session to make a Nissan 1-2.
The pair of Ganassi racers took the top two spots on the final lap of the session with Scott Pruett setting the top mark at 1:53.241 followed by IndyCar ace Scott Dixon at 1:53.500.
In GTLM it was Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia who set the fastest time of the week at 1:59.133. BMW’s Dirk Mueller and Andy Priaulx were second and third fastest.
The Risi Ferrari suffered damage after contact with the Paul Miller Racing Audi GT Daytona. The Ferrari is currently being stripped back to investigate full extent of damage which is concentrated on the rear sub-frame area (left and right) and where it attaches to the chassis.
Other class leaders included Raphael Matos in PC from Colin Braun and Bruno Junqueira. Kevin Estre led GT Daytona actually driving both the No.71 and No.73 cars in the session. Final qualifying kicks off at 4:10pm this afternoon.
