Ford GT set for Bathurst demo laps
The Ford GT will run demonstration laps at the Bathurst 1000 on October 4-7, Ford Australia has announced on Tuesday.
It will see the GTE-spec car tackle the Mount Panorama circuit with Ryan Briscoe having the opportunity to drive in his home country. The race is the highlight of the Supercars season.
“The Ford GT is an ultra-high-performance car, so I’m really excited and honoured to turn the Ford GT’s first laps at Bathurst” Briscoe said.
“For me, Bathurst is one of the best, if not the best racing circuit in the world.
“Nothing quite compares to Bathurst. Bathurst as a circuit demands the highest respect at all times.”

Ford is poised to wrap the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship manufacturer’s title at the season finale, Motul Petit Le Mans from October 10-13.
Briscoe and Richard Westbrook, or Dirk Mueller and Joey Hand, will try to overcome a more significant points gap to Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen in the driver’s championship.
