Fisichella & Cameron top Long Beach times

tudor_longbeach_apr17_15_prac_13The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship kicks off its annual Long Beach “street sweeping” session on the Californian streets with Giancarlo Fisichella and Dane Cameron topping the times.

The sportscar teams hit the track at 7:45am for a two-hour session with Fisichella’s Risi Ferrari topping the GTLM battle and Dane Cameron taking the top spot overall with his final lap of the session.

In total the 17 cars on track recorded an amazing 959 laps with John Edwards’ BMW recording the highest number of laps at 69.

The BMW’s were second and third in the chase behind Fisichella’s Ferrari. Home town hero Bill Auberlen was second fastest ahead of Edwards.

Tommy Milner’s Corvette was fourth fastest while Daytona and Sebring winners Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia could only manage the sixth fastest time.

In the prototype ranks, Richard Westbrook and and Joao Barbosa led the chase of Cameron while last year’s Long Beach winner Scott Pruett was fifth fastest in his Ganassi Ford he is sharing with Joey Hand.

Cars are not back on track until 4:45pm  – the final practice session before qualifying at 5:30pm.
